Miriam's Apple Cake

  • 1 c Margarine
  • 1 1/2 c Sugar
  • 3 lg Eggs
  • 3 c Flour
  • 1 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 1 pn Mace; optional
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1 ts Cinnamon
  • 2 ts Vanilla
  • 2 tb Whiskey, brandy, liqueur or
  • -sweet wine
  • 3 c Apples; peeled, cored,
  • -chopped or shredded
  • 1 c Walnuts; chopped, or pecans
  • 1 c Chocolate chips
Cream margarine and sugar till fluffy, beat in eggs. Sift dry ingredients
and add gradually. Fold in remaining ingredients. Spoon into a greased and
floured 10" tube pan or 12"x17" rectangular pan. Bake at 350 about an hour
or till done.
