Zesty Stewed Tomatoes
- 3 tb Butter or margarine
- 1/4 c Finely chopped onion
- 1/4 c Finely chopped green pepper
- 6 lg Tomatoes, peeled & quartered
- 3/4 ts Salt
- 1/8 ts Pepper
- 1/2 ts Sugar
- 1/8 ts Garlic salt
- 1/2 ts Dried oregano leaves
1. In a deep, 2-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole melt butter
or margarine in Microwave Oven 30 seconds. Add onion and green pepper, and
heat, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 3 minutes or until lightly browned. 2.
Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. 3. Heat, covered, in
Microwave Oven 5 to 6 minutes or until tomatoes are very tender. 5tir
occasionally. Serve hot or cold
